Peace is a state of mind.
It reaches those who believe
That the planet is for us to share,
Not holding it as mine
And you to exclude.

Peace is a heart full of hope
Caring for the little and the great,
For the white and the black,
Christian, Muslim or a Jew,
Or whatever a belief one does dare.

Peace, a candle shedding a flicker,
Turns the ocean of darkness into light.
Yea! Its work never stops or wanes
In the hearts of men and women
Seeking to speak and act as human.

Nay, I will say to the warrior.
Enough of your ways across the centuries.
Now let us begin in peace to say
"Con Arvore" bear fruit and sway.

Um poema, uma vez escrito, deixa de pertencer ao poeta...
Talvez esta verdade me leve a publicar algumas das páginas que fui borrando de tinta, ao longo dos anos, mas não agora. Este poema é um excerto de um e-mail de um amigo, fora do contexto d'A Sombra, até aqui, pelo que me perdoarão não facultar o seu endereço.

O doutor Elias Abu-Saba é de origem Libanesa e reside nos EUA, onde, juntamente com a esposa, Mary Abu-Saba, participa na organização Global Campaign to Rebuild Palestinian Homes (GCRPH), para a reconstrução de casas palestinianas. Uma vez que me encontro a colaborar com eles, em breve afixarei elementos relativos a esta iniciativa, que se propõe reconstruir mil casas palestinianas, destruídas pelo exército de ocupação israelita.
A GCRPH trabalha em colaboração com israelitas e palestinianos envolvidos localmente neste esforço.
